which scoop soaks your engine bay? and is that using a stock airbox or DCI?
personally the CYBA scoops (go to the sponsor section you will c them) are cheap and easy to install and with a protective measure against water coming in the engine bay with slits in scoops themselves for water to go through. I have no experience with any of the other ones. But in the same token I have not heard anybody complain about water in the engine bay due to any scoops. I just went the cautious route and went with the cyba scoops direct bolt on.

No scoops will soak the factory filter, you would need to setup a hose in front of the car to do that. The aFe scoops are straight forward to install, installation instructions are included in the package. We run their scoops on our 335 with their DCI and vented hood, no issues in the rain

Actually, over 60+ MPH & they are a beneficial performance upgrade with a DCI in place. Less than that & you're correct .......... aesthetics & nothing else.

RPi! Even if they do nothing, at least the red looks cool

I run the UR CAI which puts the filter down at the driver side lower vent, but still use scoops. Obviously no performance increase, but I think more circulating air in the engine bay keeps it cooler.

Toad, do you have data to prove that? IAT logs? How about the adverse affect to radiator flow? This is definitely a grey area.

I had scoops once and removed them because I became increasingly concerned they were robbing our radiator from flow it really needs. I didn't have the time to log it, but there is enough logic to concern me.

i have installed rpi scoops, and dont like how restrictive they get up near the hood latch area, you can barely get a finger between them and the core support, i really see it as a "bottleneck" in air flow

exactly, why spending $60~$100 on scoops when $39 shipped will get the job done?
