In the mean time, what do you guys suggest I should do next as far as performance. Are DCI or CAI the next step before going JB3?

Just want to see what worked and didn't work for you guys. I'd like to keep the car as quiet and stock as possible.

Thx in advance.
Go for a DCI next, hopefully we'll get a meet up goin soon, if the weather doesnt hold up

do the solenoid bypass, you will notice a greater throttle response

This is typically why I tell people just spend the extra money for the Jb3 since you will eventually want it anyway. The JB+ is great for some but most end up wanting that little extra. The DCI would be a good option along with an FMIC

IMO these are the basic 4 mods which give you the best performance to cost ratio

1) Tune
2) Intake
3) FMIC
4) catless downpipes

If you are planning to go up to the JB3 then just take the plunge. As you're a relatively new owner of the JB+ and if you bought it from either BMS or myself directly you qualify for full credit for your JB+ toward the purchase of the JB3 (within 6-months).

For you the next step I would recommend is and intake!

Kenny,

I'm pretty sure Jb+ @ 75% = SSTT.

Given what I know now about warranty, aftermarket parts, etc, I would have just put a jb3 in and left everything else stock..Everything else is a pain in the ass, especially when you have to take it all off every time you go to the dealer(quite often for me)

Go to 100% with 93 octane along with the BMS DCI and i think you will be more than happy with those two mods alone.BTW i would also do the bypass as it will keep that power going right up to redline.

If going to 100% it is HIGHLY recommended to have a BT tool handy!

Also, best to find the highest octane gas when running either JB+/SSTT. These little suckers respond very well to the good stuff!

How reliable is the JB+ for everyday use? I'm coming from Subaru who had Cobb's AP and with stage 1, it was a mild tune that would not hurt the car in the long run.

Thanks!

Perfectus,

I came from an STi with 320 bhp a few generations back - I loved that car but the usable power band was so small compared to the N54.

Been running SSTT for over 20,000 miles with absolutely no codes (checked with BT). I think if you use high octane petrol even JB+ at 100% should be fine. Also, I use K&N drop-in, which helps the power a little at the top end.

Also came from a WRX with Cobb Stage 1. Went with it specifically because it was a "set it and forget it" tune that was undetectable and completely safe.

Bought the JB+ a few months ago (right after I got my car), but haven't gotten around to installing it because, well, i'm a little apprehensive. They say you've got to pay to play, and I'm just so hesitant with anything warranty related.

I understand the JB+ at 50% will not throw codes (though I'd have a BT cable just in case so I could check everything over before services), but what about the adverse event, i.e. car dies from HPFP failure, completely unrelated to the tune. In that sort of adverse condition, do you think unforeseen codes could be thrown? I worry about that situation because I don't think I'd have the chance to check it out with a laptop and BT cable if the HPFP quit on me on the road and the car had to be taken to the nearest dealer.

This is a massive threadjacking, and I apologize.
