Newbie - Help with JB3
Hi guys,
So i just signed papers for a new 2010 335i coupe (6MT, Saphire Black/Black leather, cold weather, premium, navi, sport, & hi-fi sound). I'll be picking it up mid December and i've already started looking at mods for the car. I'm coming from an 03 G35 sedan, 06 G35 coupe, and an 08 G37s. It was about that time for me to make the change. In any case...I've been seeing alot of posts and videos about the JB3. I did some searching...but i figured i'd add a new thread incase there were any newbies in search of the same answers as myself. So here it goes... 1- Should i buy directly from the burgertuning.com website or are there any alternate websites selling for cheaper? I was thinking JB3 + the dual cone intakes. 2- Has anyone had any issues with installation or any issues in the long run after installation? 3- Most likely going to do downpipes or high flow cats...any suggestions that will go well with the JB3 & dual cone intake set up? Thanks in advance, guys. Looking forward to joining the BMW family! |

Let me know I can help you out with price and advice if that is what you are after. You can give me a call to talk about it.

2 - If you get the PnP which is what pretty much everybody gets the installation is pretty easy and should take about 45minutes the first time. 3 - I would recommend the JB3/DCI combo (you can get more details on my site - click on sig) and ar design catless downpipes. Great combo and the catless downpipes really make the car come alive. Other mods to think about would be a FMIC Hope that helps. Mike |

DCI - Dual Cone Intake PnP - Plug and Play version of the JB3. It is also sold as a pin-out but that install is more complicated FMIC - Front Mount InterCooler which helps keep your intake air temperatures down which give you more consistent performance I sent you a PM with my phone number so feel free to call me if you're still not clear Mike |

None taken. I am the new kid on the block, but trust me those that buy from me know how much I am willing to help out and make myself available to talk and help on price as well. I am not looking to take anything away from Mike. I rather keep things small and manageable so that i never get to the point where I hate talking to people.lol No matter what you are doing if things get nuts you tend to get to that point where you start to hate picking up the phone and I don't want that to happen.

I have had the JB3 on my car for a long time with over 20k miles on it.. It has been perfect! It has given me the power i wanted with the simplicity i have been looking for without the headaches. The driving experience it has increased for my car was worth triple for what it goes for.
DCI also adds some nice turbo soud the car is missing in stock trim, along with some nice gains with the JB3, also looks cool in the engine bay. P.s. get the PnP JB3, download the instructions off of burgertuning.com and or watch the HD video on youtube, the install isnt very hard. Good luck. |

Can anyone explain what benefits i'll get out of the PnP? For some odd reason i feel like it could be risky when given the option to "Plug and Play."
As of right now...i feel pretty convinced with the JB3 + DCI set up. Glad to hear it doesnt affect MPG with normal driving habits...and yes i def understand how MPG's would drop when constantly flooring the car. |

95% of my customers go for the PnP version as the extra 200 or so is money well spent in terms of convenience, but if you are really comfortable working on cars and electronics then you can save yourself some money and go for the Pin-Out version Mike |

When adding down pipes to the JB3 setup, will that throw a CEL? And will it pass inspection? I'm in PA so usually cats are needed to pass inspection.

I know the ar design catted pipes are pretty immune to CEL but not sure how they are doing with the latest software. Maybe Andrew can chime in. MIke |
