Weird Problem
So I go to my car yesterday after leaving a shopping mall and my remote will not open the doors to my car, but will lock them, and open the trunk. I had been using the car all morning with no problem.
I take the actual key out and use it to open my door and I notice right away that my seat is now in a completely different position. When I finally turn on my car, it seems like the battery has been disconnected as my electronics seem to be all reset back to OEM. Also my navigation is not working at all. I re-adjusted my seat and headed off. The car seems to be running ok, but I really didn't get a chance to put it through it's paces, as I had my wife and her friend with me. I will do that today. However my key continues not to open the doors, and my power locks inside the car do not work as either. I tried my second key and it doesn't work either. So basically... does anyone have any idea's as to what may have happened. Three things I can say upfront... 1. I just installed a JB+ about 3 weeks ago and I am running it at 75% with no solenoid bypass. 2. I have a K/N Air Filter with no other air flow mods done. 3. I use a "Back Up" copy of my 2009 navigation disk to make sure not to scratch "MY" original one. |

Maybe you grab the other keyfob on your way out the door, your spare one that you normally don't use...Each keyfob has I think different settings for the seat position and I think other functions, but as for the door not opening I am not sure...

Weird. My favorite is when I go to the garage and all the windows and sunroof are completely wide open because one of the keys in my pocket was apparently pressing down the button.
On the 335 (I have comfort access) the batteries in the key fob are not rechargable and need to be replaced. If you pull the key out and look down at the key opening, there is a thin slit in the plastic next to it . You can use a butter knife to wedge it open to see the battery. The battery is a Panasonic CR2032 (3 volt). Might be worth replacing them with a 2007 model year car. |
