Seriously debating 2010 Genesis Coupe
Hey fellow members,
I am in a huge dilema, after seeing the car I was interested. After seeing the price, I am now somewhat hooked. Been a member here for awhile, and have personally met some of you. But, being a 19 year old college student owning a 135 is out of the question and would I could be labeled as that "living beyond his means." Furthermore i'd like to get out of 2000 civic coupe and into this Genesis. At 26k (Track model) it definitely looks like a steal and a hell of a lot of fun to drive. Plus i'm pretty sure I (as in me) can afford the monthly payments. But, moving next year to wherever I'm transferring to could be a problem... The plot thickens... Thoughts? |

I was looking at that Genesis 4 Door Sedan. I got my grandparents one. Its actually pretty damn nice and a step up from them driving fords. Its not by any means a 5 series, but a loaded 5 series was about 65k and the Hyundai can be had for 38. It seriously is a very nice car. They had a genesis parked next to it with some dark brown leather. It was nice. If you really don't care about brand image or trying to impress people (which my 70 year old grandparents don't) its a heck of a car. Of course it will always get "but its a Hyundai." We de-badged it entirely and 1 in 10 can guess what it is. Everyone guesses Lexus or Infinity haha.

Seems like a good plan to me. I am having similar thoughts about Hyundai's new RWD coupe. Its nearly as fast as my G37, looks better on the outside, and my payments would drop by 1/3. I just don't know if I want to take such a step backward in terms of luxury....

It's the best value out there for an enthusiast. There's so much potential with the aftermarket as well.
Keep us updated.

I don't see how you can go wrong if its within budget and suits your needs.
You may want to consider slightly used. <10k miles but interest rates will be higher.

Those modded Gen Coupes are sick!
I say go for it. And check out a Mustang GT while you're at it.

+1. Their brand image is prob the worst in the car business.

I looked at the 4.8 sedan for a few months. Never pulled the trigger and got on an SUV, no trigger either. He has limited funds and seems young. There are a ton of options with the car. For a guy who is not handed a set of keys the car performs and is loaded, IMO, for the money.
At his, apparent age, I really did not give a poop about a brand. If it ran and was clean that was all I needed to get my business done. Driver attitude> Cars emblem
