BMW Technician

I was trying to locate a BMW tech around the NY area, more specifically Queens. There is a vehicle I am interested in purchasing, but the asking price seems a bit low?
CARFAX report looks very clean, nothing shady... I was wondering if it's necessary to use an independent technician just to verify that the car is OK and approx, how much that would cost.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
