Replacing 255/35/18 with 225/40/18 on an Xi?
Will this result in transfer case damage due to the diameter difference? I'm aware the width doesn't matter and I've read the FAQ, but it doesn't mention anything about Xi's. I'm ready to pull the trigger on some snows, just need to get this cleared up.

Yes, you can use 225/40R18 on both the front 8" wheels and the rear 8.5" OE wheels with no problem. This is actually very common to do. Eliminating the stagger in this way works very well for winter and results in better winter traction.
