Where to test drive a M3 in GTA?

My buddy and I were out test-driving cars this weekend. First we were at Pfaff to try out a 911 Carrera S (we had an appointment) and then stopped by Maranello to see about an M3 or an M5. My salesguy didn't have any available to test and furthermore said that most places won't let you test drive them since that will reduce their value. No kidding. I just stepped out of a $120K Porsche and I can't test drive a $70K M3? What's up with that? I bought my 335 from him last year and he let me go alone with my wife on the test drive.

For those M3 owners, did you have a test drive? To not drive a car before buying seems absurd to me, no matter what its pedigree....

passsed by TC BMW a feel times, I see an e92 M3 outside, looks like it might be test drivable...although when I bought mine there was no car in stock for test drive...the sales jokingly said, you don't need to test drive an M...but they would if they are sure you're going to buy ... but i feel what you mean...before the M i test drove a loaded C4S PDK w/ GT2 seats...kinda ridiculous if I can drive that but not an M

just go to another dealer... not every dealership has an m3 for test drive. some of them only have showroom models that are to be kept "brand new" so they arent available for test drive.

btw, not being able to get test drives is very common.. when i was shopping around for cars, i couldnt get a test drive of a GTR no matter where i go... and until today, i still havent been able to test drive one.

It was a few years ago now, but Park Shore in Vancouver had no problem letting me test drive an E46 M3 convertible. Would probably have been in 2004, when these cars were still ultra-desirable. I wasn't even particularly serious about buying, but the sales guy had no problem with it at all.

I test drove an E92 M3 back in Summer of 2008 at Budd's BMW. But I heard that they don't allow test drives anymore as they want to keep the M's exclusive. This is also the reason why there aren't any in stock, they only take orders now.

I didn't know that test driving the 911's was easy. I'll give it a try soon.
How do you guys approach them for these test drives? Do you act like you want to buy the car? Do you give them your phone number?

My buddy arranged it. He went in the week before and said he wanted to test drive the C4S... they don't always have all the models available for test drive so the salesguy set it up. And my buddy made sure the salesguy knew I would also be test-driving it .

Test drive was awesome!! My friend and I had to go separately since the back seats are useless in the 911... salesguy drove the car first out of the dealership and pushed it fairly hard and I took it back via 407... it was sweet!

I thought the 335 was fast but there is no turbo lag at all when you step on the loud pedal... it sticks to the ground and it accelerates like a jet fighter. I don't know what you need to say to them to convince them you're not just out for a joyride but we're not twenty-something kids so it's all above board. My friend is in the market... I just wish I was.

Now I'm spoilt and I really want one or I need to mod the H*ll out of my car.

i'm not sure if it's easy regularly, but since my friend was a sales at downtown porsche, it was easy...i also had an appointment at pfaff, but cancelled due to leaving the province ..so yes bmdblu it was at downtown porsche...

basically as overdrive said, I knew back in the April when I wanted the car, i had no car to test drive since the 08's were basically CLEARED out...and most cars had to be ordered, dealers were not suppose to stock cars... by the time I picked up my car mid-june, the same 08 e90 m3 sedan they had on the showroom was available for test drive...

@tazbert, of course there's no turbo lag..there's no turbos on the c2s hahah ..just playing.
