FS: Connect2 e90 e 91 Double Din kit
I have an e90 double din kit that allows you to relocate the climate controls a bit further down on the dashboard making room for a double din space that can fit most double DVD or navigation units in the aftermarket. It comes with a metal bracket that holds the double din unit, a bracket that holds the climate controls and an over-panel that makes everything look stock. I purchased this whole kit from the UK roughly 3 months ago and paid about $240 including the kit and shipping fees. If you've been searching for a double din installation kit for the E90 & E91, you've probably come across very few options available for these newer models. After careful research, we prefer this particular kit manufactured by Connect2 for a few reasons: 1. Very minor modifications required, ideal for returning vehicle back to stock condition 2. Climate control unit does not need to be relocated to an obscure location like the center shift console 3. Double din fascia maintains the factory look and feel of the E90 E91 3 Series E90 E91 BMW 3 Series Double DIN Installation Kit * Includes Double Din Fascia/ Trim Bezel & Brackets * Manufactured by Connect2 Vehicle Fitment * 2005 - Present E90 E91 BMW 3 Series Compatible With All Double Din Head Units Including: * Kenwood * Pioneer * Alpine * JVC * Eclipse * Clarion $100 shipped

BE CAREFUL, ordering this kit
Firstly, does anyone know where I can buy the exact fascia kit pictured in this thread?
Reason being Connects2 and Audioleads are supplying part number CT23BM01 DFP-06-06 with a different moulding. The part they supply has no hollowing for the stereo and (most importantly) no 'bulge' for the air-con controls which allows the air-on to sit proud and looks ok. It is flat and I had it fitted professionally, BUT the air-con controls protrude too much and the bottom part sticks out and cannot be screwed! It's a piece of cr@p. I've read about shaving bits off the air-con housing but SURELY this shouldn't be necessary. Spoke to a guy in Ireland who said the kit I want was originally made in Germany then copied and manufacture moved to Italy where the design was simplified (to a crap one) but sold under the same part numbers. I've attached a picture of the crap version for reference. |
