IPOD Integration question ..

I have done some searching, but I just recently purchased an 07 335i ... it comes with the aux in port and usb port etc. I used my existing apple ipod cable and it works great with the ipod. I have control of everything, but the only thing that does not show up are the playlists on my nano. Ideas?
