best tyre to get
i have 2 knackered (on the inside edge only) crap bridgestones, the fronts have loads of tread left and even wear. need to replace the rears but refuse to buy bridgestone rubbish, what is the best to get, dont mind runflat, considering michelin of goodyear.

i have just had michelin's RFTfitted on the rears did have P zero on the rear and Michelin on the front, at the time i could get michelin 255's for love or money, tramlined quite a bit at high speeds and braking maybe because of a mixed set and allways when i floor it ornage DTC light would flash, now running full michelin setup its much better and more grip, prices i had were £192+vat for p zero, £211+vat for michelin RFT

I need a new pair of rears for my 535d and would get PS2s in an instant, but they're not available in a 50 profile tyre (225/50R17)
Assuming I stick with runflats and just change the pair, I have the choice of Bridgestone RE050, Pirelli PZero or Goodyear NCT5. All are pretty much the same price. Which is best? My local tyre place, who have always offered great service and advice are also recommending Nokian Zs are just over half the price. I've been working in Norway for the last year and they seem a very popular winter tyre over there. I'm not interested in compromising on tyres, but they claim they aren't a compromise over the standard RE050s. I have to say that in a 50 profile on the E60 I haven't had all the inside edge wear issues with the OEM RE050s that you guys seem to have with the E90s. I was pondering a set of 4 non-runflats, but the ride is OK on 50 profiles and I don't want to upset the handling. Thanks! Last edited by milesr3; 12-06-2009 at 06:02 AM.. |

I'd go for the PZero.
