A few from the 25hr at T-Hill

So I thought I would throw up a few pics from the 25 hour race at thunderhill this weekend. I worked crew again for some friends who were running an E36 M3 with an S54 in it (Blue Bimmerworld car in the pics). We were really busy in the pit so unfortunately I did not get to take any during the race. Only one E9X in the race but it was pretty sweet. Lots of BMW's though. (Don't have pics of all of them) Our car and drivers were fast but unfortunately did not make the distance. Diff gave out just before half way. Oh well, there is always next year.

My friend was one of the drivers in the 13 car (Tony Collicicho)...and another friend, Peter Vinsel was crew chief for the 13 - he is the Chief Instructor for BMW club in NorCal)

Another friend of mine was suppose to be there...but was the guy in the Lotus that exploded at Spring Mountain...he is ok..he just has no more eyebrows...and gets a new car..new suit..new helmet. Kinda expensive day for him....

Small world, Peter was my instructor many years ago at a laguna school. Nice guy. A couple of the guys on our team know Tony as well. Do you go to PDC events?

That lotus video is crazy. makes you rethink how much prtective gear is "necessary" just for a lapping day.

Havent been to a PDC event yet..but I have gone to numerous other clubs events... Yes, I never wear nomex when at a HPDE...nor a neck brace...I think I am gonna rethink using them.

PDC is a great group of guys to run with. They rent the track for the day and its open passing and run as much as you want. Cost is split evenly across the drivers who show up. I haven’t been out with them in awhile, but their events are the way to go. Hit up Mark Dagar as he is one of the guys who runs it. (Although if the Tony you mentioned is the same guy I have heard a couple of my buddy’s mention then he is in the group as well.)

Yeah, I switched to lighter weight helmet and a neck brace a few years back, but now thinking nomex is a good idea even for HPDE.

Yeah...I have known Mark Dadgar for numerous years..he and I even live pretty close together. Maybe I should try them..I get the PDC emails when ever a broadcast is sent out....probably because of Mark. Tony C built the cage in my old Spec Miata..and I know him from the Audi events...especially back when he had a B5 platform Audi S4.
