robbo,

Unless you're gonna strip them down and get them powder coated properly, they will always look shite mate.

Even powder coated, everyone knows they are painted standard ones.

If you want colour ones you need to buy pukka aftermarket calipers like AP or similar. They look cool on the right car, although i'd still have black APs anyway.....

i think as long as its not a mega in your face colour, ie yellow/red etc it looks much better. the standard calipers corrode so easily. its a very easy job, wheel off, wirebrush the caliper and paint with VHT hammerite smooth. i would suggest black or silver.

the brush on stuff too, unless you are going to fully remove and strip the calipers! you will be suprised how good a finish you will get, the paint is so thick it gives a really decent look. i need to do mine, i painted my brake rotor hubs that i fitted last week, just need to calipers to match now. but time is always against me!!

I had mine painted black about two months ago, as I thought the standard matte grey colour did not look very good, in particular if you have rather open rims where you see them quite well.

Here are two photos, one with summer rims, the other with my winter rims. The photos are not optimal I admit, but they should give you an idea how it looks. I also share the view that to paint them in red or something similar is rather ridiculous, but in dark tones it looks a lot better than OEM.

I was considering this on the 135i as obviously it has the BMW Performance calipers anyway, albeit with a slightly less interesting logo!
