2006 e91 335i start up

Hello

Ive searched to death, but can only really find US threads on the issue im having.

Picked up 56 plate e91 335i (im 3rd owner) from bmw dealer over the weekend.

On cold starts (and running when warm) there is a metallic ticking noise from the engine tied to the RPM's

Anyone else had this issue or care to shed some light?

Ive filled recently with V Power, and despite the promise of a service before i collected, it hasnt been done and the oil level is one bar above minimum (i didnt check the books at the dealer or idrive as i was in a rush)

Many thanks, and if ive missed a thread already posted, i apologise in advance and expect the flaming

sounds like it could either be the injectors, or the cam lifters if its rpm dependent. Both are fairly normal.

I wont be cam lifters, if it's hot and cold.

Mine used to do that and I never had any problems. I think I also posted about it and received the 'they all do that' kinda reply. Only happened sometimes with me though.

from reading on here i thought the wastegate problem was only when closed? (ie. off throttle)

when i get the service/oil situation sorted ill try and investigate further
