Has anyone in WA done a Euro Delivery?

I also posted this at the M3 forum but I'd like to get more feedback if possible.

To make a long story short, my car arrived by truck at the dealership today. My client advisor from BMW of Bellevue called me to say that they need to order plates which will take 3-4 days and that they cannot provide temp plates or release the car until they arrive.

Can any of you confirm that this is indeed a WA state law?

I would prefer not to name any names. He's a nice guy and I know he's trying his best. I think the decision is coming from the managers.

This sounds weird, I thought temporary plates were part of the new plates process.

The ED experience was incredible. When you pick your car up at the Welt, they treat you like royalty. Visiting Germany was also a lot of fun. But, by far, the best part about the trip is the factory tour. Getting to see how the cars are built, how the robots do their work, how the cars are painted, etc. It is simply amazing.

The only thing that sucks is the redelivery. Shipments to the west coast go through the Panamal Canal and customs in Port Heuneme took about 2 weeks as well.

Over all I'd highly recommend it. Just find a dealer that is knowledgable about the experience and who'll take care of you and BMW will do the rest.

were the expenses high? i hear you get 7% off msrp when you do ed... that doesnt seem like a very very good deal. is it 7% off of a negotiated price or did you have to pay the full msrp with a 7% discount?
