Unhappy Cream Beige vs. Saddle Brown

OK everyone here's the dilemma. I received a great deal on a 335i coupe w Monaco Blue on cream beige w burl wood trim. A classy/luxury look that makes the wood stand-out real nice. Also like the way the beige spills up and into the bottom of the dash. Problem is the cream beige is just too light.

Noticed the saddle brown looks good too. Problem with it is that the backs of the seats aren't saddle brown leather (BMW doesn't put leather on the seatbacks and doesn't have a saddle brown leatherette to use there). Also, the floor boards and ceiling are dark/light grey respectively, and the burl or even grey poplar woods don't go that well. Problem is the saddle brown is too dark/orangy and appears to have inconsistent die lots.

What BMW needs is a high quality "tan" leather to bridge the gap.

Anyone else have any comments/preferences. I'm stuck w cream beige for the next 4 years. Does anyone else like this combo?

I personally like the Dark Burl Walnut Trim with Saddle Brown combo on Black dash/back of seats and ceiling combo

It really looks nice in my opinion, take a look at the first page of Interior Picture thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23964 the 2 combos are right after each other.

The Beige is just too light, think about it like this...you will see EVERY SINGLE scuff

Why do people come up with wild assertions like "BMW doesn't put leather on the seatbacks and doesn't have a saddle brown leatherette to use
there?"

The saddle brown, IMO, is the nicest interior color out there as it is a the perfect balance of color, brightness and (visible) stain resistance. The black/saddle interior combination is what makes the saddle brown so nice. The grey headliner does seem a bit off though.

I have saddle and still like it alot and actually prefer that black backs and bottoms and black dash, I think more saddle on stuff would be too much and I don't like matching lower dash typically. I do like the Audi tan leather better though, especially with the ball glove stitching they can do on it. I like leather that actually looks like tanned leather!

Plain vanilla black interior for me. Just my preference. Maybe some alacantra or two-tone seats. But, black theme overall.

Cream Beige gets my vote. But definitely with black floormats as someone suggested.

When I ordered my car, I was going to go with the beautiful Saddle UNTIL I saw the gray headliner. I worked in a gray office building, with gray walls, a gray desk, a gray chair and didn't want to see any gray in my car at all. And also I didn't really want a "tri-tone" interior.

That left me with Creme Beige which I've loved from the moment I saw it. And it's been very easy to live with and it's not that hard to keep clean at all.

Now, if the M-sport package was available with the black headliner back then, I'd proably have gone with Saddle.

Personally, I didn't want the tri-tone look either.

Monaco Blue + Cream Beige + Burl looks beautiful IMO.

Have a look at the interior pics you if haven't already.

The car I drive now has a light interior. I don't find it difficult to keep clean at all, but I normally don't have difficulty keeping my interiors clean, so I guess it depends - you would know yourself best. I use Lexol Leather cleaner - top quality stuff that I highly recommend!

saddle brown is just a rare and classy combo. The tan is so light it kind of cheapens the interior's look and I find it somewhat femine-looking.

i've the same combo... monaco blue with light cream interior... looks very classy... I like the lightness of it tho... infiniti's beige is too yellow in comparison... saddle borwn is nice too... I think bmw has nice color options.... and who cares about the seat back is leather or not... lol... i mean no one ever touches them.

I had the saddle brown on my Crimson Red 335i and thought it looked good. My Monaco blue 135i has Savannagh Beige. This is the best color combination of any car I've owned. They should offer this color on the 335i.

agreed.. I have monaco+saddle+dark burl combo and I love it. It's a much more subtle contrast compare to beige interior.

I have sold and serviced many cream beige cars. If you love it that much, don't ever wear blue jeans.

Go to the threads that show different exterior/interior color combinations (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1612) and look for something you love.

BETTER YET

Go to a dealer that has lots of 3 series in stock, check out the different combinations and then decide.

Picking colors is a very personal thing and asking for other opinions isn't that helpful. You are going to like things others hate and vice versa.

Saddle brown is not really rare - at least in the world of the LCI E9x. it seems like half the cars on my dealer's lot have it. And, there are very similar colors in other BMW and in many other makes.

Of course, it still looks great in the E9x but that is another issue....
