How many days does it take to build a car?

I hear the factory closes around the 18th of December. If I placed my order on the 7th, how long does it take before they start to build the car? Once they start building it, how long does it take? Do you think they will complete my car before they break for the holidays? I know it could takes weeks for it to get processed and shipped, but was wondering if It might be done before they break.

Thanks

The time it takes between the day you place your order and start of production is solely based on the # of cars infront of you. So there is say for certain how many days it will take.

I placed my order and it took 5 days for production to start. Once production starts they finish in 3-5 days (it is REALLY quick)

After going back and fourth between dealers all over Florida and getting my best price, I ended up going back to Ft.Lauderdale imports in Pembroke pines and having them match my best price. I bought my 2009 at imports in Lauderdale.

Nice, they have a similar car to yours thats been sitting there, Le Mans blue with black leather and auto, idk about the rest of the options. I am just deciding weather or not to purchase or lease the car. I hear the new body style will be out in two years now, so I am not sure what makes the most sense.

I saw it, it is:

Le Mans, Black Leather, M-Sport, Prem, Auto, Glacier Trim, Sirus, Navi, 1K Wheel Upgrade, IPod USB, Comfort Access and Rear Power Sun Shade.

I considered it but I hate the wheels and Glacier Trim

Beautiful car! thought about ordering that color myself, but had my heart set on coral red interior and although available, I don't think red goes with a blue car. So I stuff with Black Sapphire Metallic, I am however tempted to go in and buy a Jet Black 6spd they have available now, but the salesmen hinted about possibly changing all e92s to have a similar bumper to the M sport, so I figure with the M sport I will be safe and it wont be dated.

I love the Coral Red interior...really wanted black but I know I wont be able to keep it 100% clean with my heavy workload and busy schedule

I think if you want to know your build time, then contact the CA you did business with. My production week is scheduled the 3rd week of January, I ordered my car last Fri/Sat. I was hoping to have it built this year, but what are you going to do. Then again, it would be nice to have freshly relaxed (after some holiday vacation) workers putting my car together than guys waiting to go on holiday.

You need to contact the dealer, they would be more inclined to know when build days start as they dont just start when you want the car. They have pre determined weeks for production.

Here is the video of the process http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=Video

Longest point is the paint, cause they have to cook it and let it sit

According to tour guide in Munich plant - 1.5 days.

Youtube blocked at work - I will attach 30 min video later today to show assembly of E46.
