Redex fuel injector cleaner safe to use?

Hi just a quick question about using Redex fuel injector cleaner. I bought a bottle to give the other half's Vauxhall Astra a bit of tlc as it's done over 80k (built like tanks those things!). The best value bottle was enough for 4 tank fulls so I have a fair amount spare unless I use whole lot on the Astra.

I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff on their BMW? My motor has only done 22k so I doubt it would be of much benefit, but is there any real reason not to use this kind of stuff in future (i.e. can it do damage)

Thanks guys.

Really, I had assumed (and perhaps naively) it was similar stuff to cleaning agents they put in premium fuels, only more concentrated. I doubt I would put it in my BMW either for the risk of damage, I was just curious more than anything.

Any BMW tech's out they with views on this stuff?

I agree with the above.

I wouldn't use ANY additive in a diesel equipped with a DPF as ours are, even if it said it was safe to do so.

I have used "Millers additive" for 20 years and never had a problem including my previous car a Citroen C5 2.2 hdi and it had a particulate filter

Hmmmm does the bottle mention anything about safe for use with DPF's?

I would err on the side of caution, but appreicate your real-life experiences Les.

I will check but being a member of the C5 forum loads of people were getting the warning "anti pollution" This is something I never got but this could be down do driving style as it got a good thrash on a regular basis which helps to clear the filter

How can a pint of something in 100+ pints of petrol, have any lasting effect?. Save your money and put it toward getting them ultra sound cleaned.
