Auto Air Con Question

on my GF's E90 with Auto Air Con, can the temp for the whole car be controlled from one dial?

ie. if i adjust the drivers side to 22 then i have to go and adjust the passenger side to 22.

i want to know if i can control the general temp from one dial as in my old Avensis!

April 2007 built 318d,

Thanks.

No, you can't. Bit of a pain when you are on your own but that's it.

New models now have an "ALL" button which allows control of both sides from one side.

You could use the "rubber band mod" and stretch a rubber band around both temperature knobs.

but who cares what the temperature is on the passenger side when your not sitting there? Set your side to the desired temperature and enjoy!

exactly M3,

Having to set them same is an OCD thing about tidyness I reckon....

Let the passenger look after their side.

on my 4th 3'er having done E36/46/93.

My e36 had dual climate, both E46's had single temp guage and now the E93 is back to dual.

I'm a dual person. Yes a pain to change both but invaluable when you like it on the cooler side while others don't - esp in winter

Sadly I'm one of those, I hate them being different, plus I don't like 0.5 steps either! Whole numbers only!

...I agree why would you need half a degree!! both sides at 20.0 + auto...never need to turn if up or down!...cant stand the site of a 19.5 or a 20.5 or any .5...its a bit like the auto wipers... , do you really need them to be more rain sensitiveish...and the auto lights, set them to sensitive an they're on and off like a christmas tree! Sorry rant over!
