Headunit?
Hi peoples.
I will be picking up my E92 in a couple of weeks, but it doesn't have idrive (second hand so couldn't spec it.) It has the factory radio installed but i'm not happy with the way it displays data. I'm looking for a single din unit such as the Alpine Idx-001 (or something else from alpine) to replace it. I'm justing looking to see if someone has done anything similar or how hard it will be to get everything working (i'm looking at getting the bluetooth attached and to have the multifunction steering wheel still working). |

It requires 4 adapters in total and those adapters alone cost about £300 all together. Plus getting the parking sensors wired back in is a slag.
But it is possible to put whatever head unit you want in. The parts are avail. I picked up an Alpine flip screen unit and bought the alpine navigation too so I'm covered

£300!? I think they saw you coming! I got mine up and running for under £50 (all be it without the parking sensor adaptor, which was another £50)
You are right though the parking sensors are a slag to get working, so much so that I didn't bother. |
