BMW 320d Mods

Hey all, im a new owner of a bmw e90 2008, only 18 but hey i like my cars xD

Anyway the car is currently in my dads shop getting a dent pulled and i thought id get a few other things for it.

I will be adding an M-Tech body kit after xmas as it will be around £1000 when all finished =(

But at the minute i just want a few things that family could buy and i could buy myself.

Ive already got 2 spoilers, boot and roof, also added tints rear and slightly in the front.

My next thoughts do towards the grill tbh the cars on here that ive seen with the black kidney grills look amazing and i was wondering the best place to purchase them from. I was looking as ssdd motorsport on ebay but i thought it was a bit dear, but all the same who is going to trust taiwanese xD

These are the ones i was looking at
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/E90-E91-LCI-Bl...8#ht_500wt_956

I thought the shipping was a bit steep maybe if i contacted him for a few other things it would be a bit cheaper ;P

Next id move towards the headlights. My plan was halos, ive been quoted 250 quid for a pair at my local mod shop for halogen angel eyes, but from what ive been reading here its starting to sound a bit cheap? and may just be rubbish.

So maybe my best option is xeons and bright sidelights? If so could you link me to the best error free ones? For headlights, fogs, sides and other things such as the doors and number plate?

Also these i love xD SSDD motorsport ftw :P
http://www.ssdd-motorsport.com/show_...hp?prod_id=593

are these just retro fit? If so i love them and ill order right now.

Also whats the best pedal set to get :S

Sorry for all the questions its just better asking the pros than asking someone who just wants a sale

Thanks all Is there any thing else i could do to it? Also lowering, not sure if springs or coilovers would be best, jsut want comfort to be honest.

Thanks all Peter

LCIs came along as 58 plates if I remember correctly...the grilles you are looking at are LCI ones...they would not fit pre-LCI ones.

Lighting mods you want to do seem a bit muddled. If you have regular halogens you will be looking at a high cost getting them transferred to Xenons (not worth it IMO and would not be cost-effective for you as you plan other mods). A lot 320d SE have regular halogens. If you want info on high quality replacements go here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=325902

For sidelights get a decent 501 bulb.

Littering an SE with ///M bits is NOT cool in my book. Maintaining a degree of SE is my philosophy

Does yours look like this:

If so then you can get blacklines (dare I say it)

Guy on here called MEGA whose done exactly what you want:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322646

Except his is a genuine Msport

(if yours is LCI ignore everything I said)

thanks for the post

My grill has the 2 chrome bits to the bonnet so its pre lci?

Yea it has standard halogens so it may be best to just upgrade to whiter bulbs like you did?

As for the other lighting mods i was thinking of the under door lights, door handles and so on

Thanks so far

Welcome! What year was yours made? It sounds like a pre LCI

Have you not got the lights on the handles and doors as standard? You can always go down the aftermarket headlight route like I did. Both ways have their own good and bad points.

Depends what you want. Black grilles come in two. Matte black or gloss black. A selection of peeps go for BMW Performance whilst others go aftermarket. I think matte black goes with any colour car, not so stand-out. Though gloss can look very nice.

Blacklines are got from Derek Woodman BMW dealership most of the time. But may also be bought from eBay. Buy new though.

Hi Teddy can definitely get pre-facelift matt black front grilles! I ordered mine from him they were £60 or so though.

If you want gloss ones your best bet is Derek Woodman BMW in Blackpool (they will ship to you). They can sell you the official blacklines and official black front grille at a very good price, just mention this forum.

Ask to speak to Chris O'Dea. he's a great guy.

ps thanks Sunny for the link to my topic before

Shipping plus customs will make the price same as SSDD anyway. Plus you get warranty etc with Teddy.

True raf. In the case of gloss I would of gone OEM FOR SURE but having looked at the difference in matte ones...tbh I couldn't see the difference. Literally none! It's an extra £40-50 buying one from the dealer, so naturally bought the cheaper one. It looks absolutely OEM and of good quality too. Totally stand by aftermarket for matte black grills.

In for pics still...
