Warning symbol
My 325d has a warning lamp on the dash a red steering wheel with a padlock,I think its means some sort of electric steering wheel lock error.
Everything seams ok but its in for a service on tues 29th dec so hopefully it will be sorted at the same time . I did rtfm and it said do not turn off the engine ,(not very practical ) any way its home on the drive |

It's the ELV (whatever that means) and the fix is to change a sensor on the steering column. Before you get it in for service you're likely to get it in its yellow flavour as well. Take the key out, wiggle the steering wheel, and try again. With iDrive you'll also get a warning to not turn off the car but I found this was never a problem and I don't know what that particular warning really means.
