Getting Fender Rolled Tomorrow -- questions
Currently running VMR710's with 19x8.5 et35 (Front), and 19x9.5 et33 (Rear) with Continental Extreme Contact DW tires 235/35/19 (Front) and 265/30/19 (Rear). Vehicle is a 2008 335i (E90/Sedan) with Sports pkg, no lowering springs.
I have installed 12mm spacers on the rear, so my offset in the rear is now 21no spacers up front at this time. I currently only have a slight rub when driving over dips in the road (i.e. juncture between overpass and road). From what I can tell in looking at the rear quarter panels, the lips appear to already be rolled along the top portion, and then flare out gradually as they get closer to the bottom. Is this normal on the sports pkg? Is there some lip that can be rolled back, even though it appears it was rolled from the factory? I am sure hoping so, since I probably only need just a bit more clearance to prevent the rubbing. From what I understand, when rolling the lip it is imperative to heat and to also make sure that the lip is clearcoated/sealed after the roll is complete to prevent the paint from cracking etc after the roll? I am going to have the dealer do it for peace of mind, warranty, etc. Their charge is a little higher then the normal body shop but I think it will be worth it. It appears I can also get away with some spacers up front, I am thinking about a 10mm, or 5 mm up front, since right now the fronts appear to be tucked in too much compared to the rears. Thanks... |

I think go with 10mm.. I'm thinking to do 19x8.5 ET 40 with 15mm spacers on the front.. just use two ruler, and measure the distance from your edge of your tires to the fender..
