Durability of Aluminum Trim vs Wood

Hi,

I am planning on getting a e92 coupe, with Black Leather and Aluminum trim. But a SA mentioned that his car (which has Aluminum trim) shows dents easier, from cell phone and keys. He suggested I go with the wood trim.

This sounded odd but makes sense. I wasn't sure if he was steering me towards wood trim, because he was unable to find any coupe with the options that I wanted on his lot or at other dealers within 400 mi radius. I would likely have to special order (interested in Msport package which is why this is most likely special order).

Thoughts?

I have the aluminium trim and although it is true that it dents, chips easily (from the seatbelts being released especially) i would have to say that mine is now 7 months old and is still in perfect condition (and i have kids!)

If you look after your car and your passengers respect it then there is no reason why it wont look good for many years.
