DTC - really off? 1-2 shift sucks (Steptronic)

When holding down the DTC to turn it "off" it still seems that the DME is controlling the power to the wheels at some level. Right at the top of 1st, the car seems to shut down as the trans softly shifts from 1st to 2nd... Perhaps it's something that's common to all 335's, but I'm more accustomed to other cars...

Anyhow, does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for a more improved 1 - 2 shift while keeping the engine from seemingly backing down?

JB3, Steptronic...

I was going to suggest a cdv delete then I realized you had an auto. Maybe the software needs an update

are you holding the button down until the triangle/semi-circle pops up on your dashboard?
or are you just pressing it once and not holding it?

Shift yourself and do so before redline. Our cars run out of breath at redline.

It's probably the lack of a LSD.

Not entirely true if you have catless exhaust, fmic, intake and METH! No breath is actually lost at higher RPMs!

Sounds like an individual problem. My car spins through first and shifts quick and hard into every gear. 1-2 shift included.

First gear is absolutely useless and almost spins throughout the whole gear, and second to third, the beginning of 2nd gear there is also wheel spin, and thats with a big fat VERT too!!

JB3 1.4 - Map 5.

Latest (like last week) DME software was loaded by BMW. It's not spinning, I'd love to see that. For just once, I'd just love to feel it blow away the tires and bang 2nd, further blowing away the tires.

Holding it down until the "Do you know what you are getting yourself into" warning comes up.

I'll either use DS or M1 and make the car shift itself from 1 to 2, really makes little difference.

The car only has 3800 miles on it.

Hey thread jacker , I want to sort out this trans issue and would rather do so before I need to take the DP's off and take the car in....again.

Also, I now have the latest DME software and it seems as if O2 sims are causing cat inefficiency codes...sucks.

I barely use 1st gear of the steptronic. IMO even the quarter-mile guys start in 2nd gear.
