Can you suggest for New Stereo Head Unit?

As you all know, the stock HU is POS. Can't even repeat a single song or keep the display setting .

Here are what I'm looking for on the new unit:
Can play mp3 from CD/DVD. Don't need the video to be displayed(quite distaction when I drive over 100 miles per hour).
Will use stock speakers.
Can buget up to $1000.

I rather buy a HU that will do just what I need than buying a unit that have all the features and knowing that they're will be outdated in six months.
What would you suggest?

I suggest you read up the audio forum for your answer. Please make use of the search function on this forum.

+1
you may have to relocate your climate control switches, one member relocated it to the armrest compartment (to me, that's kind of a hassle to have to open the armrest to change the temperature), and lose the function of the audio buttons on the steering wheel

my car is only automatic and power seat added. Nothing else. So, I have no bluetooth nor voice commands. What is PDC?

Upon the removal of my stock HU, I still have avg mileage, avg speed, temp & range.

for those minor specs you want to gain with the price of 1000? thats a waste to me, just because you want to repeat a song. and you can find plenty of HU with those features you wanted for under 1000 easily. but i didnt get your whole "will be outdated 6 months from now remark" everything gets outdated and if you're willing to spend 1000, you might as well go with a touchscreen display
