Phone Holder Question..
Hi Folks,
The BMW has now gone, and I still have the phone holder that clips in the hole under the armrest, and charges the phone. The question is does anyone know the voltage going into the base of the adaptor?, still have the phone and if it is poss I could mod it to work in new car??. Any info would be great. Gazza |

If you have another BMW with the cradle the adapter will still fit as it is phone specific. As the name implies it "adapts" from the phone to the car. If the phone is compatible with the new car's Bluetooth you should be able to use the phone without issue. It's that damned compatibility that's a problem.
As for the voltage, I've really not a clue. I doubt it differs from one phone to the next and I'm pretty sure it's not over 13.8 volts.

So this phone holder thing, I presume you can only get an adapter for a limited range of phones? I have an adapter already in there from when I got the car but it's not the right type for my phone.
I presume there is a compatibility list somewhere? |

A little more info..
I had the cradle in my 330i and then the X3, now want to see if I can mod it to work in the new car, need to know if it is 13.8v in the base, i don't think it would be that at the phone. The phone is a Blackberry Pearl. Gazza... |

The 13.8V is typically the voltage of a car battery.
