Hi guys,
I'm thinking about buying OEM 189's from a fellow E90Post member. I want to run RFT and All Seasons due to the weather up in Maryland. To my knowledge, the wheels are 8.0 225/40/18 front 8.5 255/35/18 rear The only things I see at tire rack that seem viable are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP running at 245/40/18. Anyone else running the same things? Will these fit the wheels? Will I have any rubbing issues? You guys got any other suggestions? Help! |

You want to get "all season runflats" and have one set of tires? Or do you mean you want to run use the standard summer runflats in the summer and get a set of all seasons for the winter?
What wheels do you have now? Are you trying to avoid swapping summer/winter tires/wheels? asus |

If I were you, I would get the conti's xtreme contacts from tire-rack for all-season. But if you got xtra cash to spend, I would get a nice set of 17's or so..and put some all-season's on.

I want to buy OEM style 189 wheels and put all season rfts on there. But there are no tires made rft and a/s specifically for that wheel. So I'm wondering if I'll be okay slapping a 245/40/18 on both staggered wheels.

Yeah I mean I guess I agree. I dunno where in MD you live, but your probably better off just getting summer rubber for your 18s and then get some aftermarket 17s (or use the 17s that came with your car) with snow tires for the winter. In general, narrower tires with more rubber between the rim and the road are better in the winter... That way you get the best of both worlds.
This is a very good article: http://www.insideline.com/features/t...vs-summer.html Last edited by asus389; 01-03-2010 at 02:28 AM.. |
