I'm a lawyer in Toronto, but I'm not practicing and therefore I'm not insured and I can't provide legal services.

Also, lawyers are reluctant to post legal advice on a forum because they may be liable to anyone who acts on that advice.

Many lawyers give 1/2 hr free advice...you can find a lawyer who will do so in Toronto by calling the number here:

The questions I want to ask deals with both american law and canadian law.

Stop being cheap. If it's important enough that you need to consult a lawyer, it's probably worth investing a few bucks (if necessary, since many will offer free initial consultations) to do so.

ditto - most lawyers do free consults. if you need representation or documents then man up. why should someone do their job for free for you, especially when they could be on the hook for it?

It's not something I am acutally going to court with, it's just some common knowledge I need answered.

Jebus would you just post the damn questions already!!?! Some people might be able to answer them (whether or not they are lawyers). I mean it's been over a month and no one said anything so why not just post the questions?
