Body shop in the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville)

as mentioned in this thread, my car got vandalized on new year's day so i'm looking for a good, reputable body shop to get it all fixed.

the insurance agent recommended turbo auto body in oakland but i'm leaning towards weatherford bmw body shop.

the last time i went to a dealer for body work was at A&L bmw in pittsburgh and they did a TERRIBLE job (left paint bubbles all over the door, scraped the leather on the seat, didn't repair dents properly, terrible attitude).

so i just want to make sure that weatherford won't screw me over like A&L did. i learned the hard way that just because it's the dealership doesn't mean they actually do a good job...

My experiences with Weatherford sales and service over the years have been pretty mediocre -- If I was looking for body work, I'd find someplace else to take it. Maybe call Bavarian Professionals in Berkeley and see who they recommend. They've maintained my BMWs for many years and I have always been more than satisfied -- I'd trust them to recommend a shop for me, if I needed body work.

thanks. i just gave them a call and they recommended brooks motor cars. they seem pretty reputable but are pretty far from me. they want me to come in for an estimate before making an appointment on top of it. having a broken window, i don't really want to drive some 20 miles back and forth at least twice. i just might have to go with weatherford and hope for the best.

or maybe i'll just give that turbo auto body a try. they're "guaranteed" by farmer's so if something is not done right, i'll bitch and bitch until it is right.
