Hey guys... this past weekend a good friend, Nick @ AE Performance, was diagnosed with a fast growing form of Leukemia. It hit him hard and fast. He is currently in a drug induced coma and started Chemo on Monday. Apparently there is a big shortage of blood platelets (which he is in dire need of them). So anyone that is in the area that can donate would be a huge help.

There actually are a few fundraising meets being set up via Anthony/Peter over at Audizine. A bunch of companies are donating products to raffel off (including some clothes from rob dyrdek!)

The blood platelets are sort of an extremely high priority right this sec though, so it can't really wait for the meet. He made it through the night and they are monitoring the platelet count closely, but so far he hasn't gotten any

blood-type doesn't matter what donating blood platelets (which he needs). So anyone can donate!

OMG, my prayers go out to Nick & his family, i was just at the shop 3 weeks ago w/ Nick..

i'd love to help.. let me ask you something JP..i'm NEVER able to donate blood because i get tattooed all the time..you have to have not been tattooed for 3 yrs before you can donate, would this be considered a different circumstance or am i still ineligible?

My guess is you probably can't, but I really don't know

Hey guys, Anthony over at audizine set had tshirts made as a fundraising effort. 100% profits of the first 200 sold will go to Nick/Nick's family, after that 2/3's of the proceeds will (the rest will cover the shirt production costs):

Can you request your donation (platelets) for him specifically. or is it best we donate at his hospital??? Obviously there is a big shortage state/nationwide, but it would be nice for it all to go to him first before the state/national bank.

I'll go down tomorrow with veins a poppin!

I've heard you do need to be local, when you go to donate (call to make an appointment with that number earlier in the thread) you say it's for Nick Reed. They know him by name there now.

I inquired about out-of-state direct donations but that isn't happening right now. So it's up to you local folks!
