Help after exhuast install

Hey, i got my maganflow catback installed today, it sounds great but im facing a problem. Between 1.5-2.5krpm, i hear a VERY bad vibration, the whole car vibrates, it sounds like metal is rattling, and it goes after 2.5krpm? What could it be?

I've got magnaflow mufflers. They resonate ~2k. Everything with the same resonate frequency in the car vibrates such as change in the center console and so on. Figure out if your exhaust is rubbing against your vehicle, and if its not, probably just drone and rasp.

The vibration you might hear is the ashtray in the rear of the car and the compartment for the rear...you need to stuff them up with a small towel to eliminate it from rattle and vibrating....for some strange reason when you add an exhaust to these cars, it becomes a vibration box in the cabin area...

+1
You may also want to try putting a tennis ball in that tray. It seems to eliminate most of the vibrations.

Yes that ashtray and the sliding compartment right behind...stuff it nice and snug where the ash tray door and the sliding lid can still close..You have to do both...they become useless once you do it, but the trade-off is nice exhaust note!

do you hear it outside the car as well? or only inside?

if its outside it might need a hanger adjusted. mine was rubbing against the oem brace.

Irs the tray behind it also that rattles the most, it was getting on my nerves so bad that I once took the whole assembly out. Nnow I just put either a tennins ball or stuff it with something to stop the rattling.

My rattling was coming from the storage tray between the seats, so a tennis ball was a perfect size. Just stuffed it in there closed the lid and barely a peep. It sounds like you'd have to cut the ball to properly fit it in the ashtray, so it might not work out quite as well. I would still give it a shot and make sure that the ashtray is where the noise is coming from.
