e90 2006 320i - How do you change the air filter

Just done the wipers and microfilter (be warned the £17 ones from Eurocarparts are not as good quality as the pukka BMW ones which I was quoted as £35 to purchase but mebbes a Mann one from Camberley AUtofactors would be a better bet also abt £17). How the hell do I get at the air filter? Had a look around under the bonnet and it's not obvious at all and completely different from the various American forum pictures of air filter replacement I've seen.

Me too, had a look and removed some bolts but seems you have to take out the pollen filter etc to get to the rear of the air filter case to take it off and give you enough space to remover the filter.

this all seems a little extream to remove and replace the air filter!!!!

Or I may be going about this the wrong way,

Ideas welcome anybody.....
