Looking to upgrade to Xenon's

Everywhere I look, or ask if I ask anyone around here about upgrading from my stock halogens to xeonon's with angel eyes, they tell me it is gonna be quite expensive. Well I found a very affordable set of Xenon Headlights with Dual Angel Eyes for $398.00

Here is the link: http://www.genkituning.com/ProductDe...P-BE90405CC-OP

What do you guys think? am i getting what I am looking for in these headlights??

Thanks in advance!

I don't have experience with that brand but a few others we have tested have been sub par quality. I think your best bet is to get OEM, you will pay more but it will be done right.

If you are going aftermarket, at least try to get a set that does not have the amber reflector. Those scream aftermarket so they would stand out.

You're getting exactly what you are paying for - unmitigated crap.

Let's look at one of the quotes from the advert "You may change these bulbs to 4200K or use higher Opti-Blue or hyper-white bulbs or just change the real Xenon gas within the bulbs"

Any aftermarket conversions of type are illegal, dangerous and look tacky.

The only semi-legal way to do it is to use all OE parts - that, unfortunately, doesn't come cheap.

Beware of people trying to sell you a less expensive solution - any xenon retrofits are illegal and will ultimately get you in trouble - from the cops, your local testing station (if your state has periodic testing) or at resale, where nobody in their right mind would touch a car with butchered headlamps.

OEM lighting is garbage

i am not sure but I think non-xenon headlights CAN be opened, but I don't know if xenon headlights can be opened.

if you can get the non-xenon headlights open www.lightwerkz.net is the ultimate in lighting. definitely have them put a projector in your car!

Save your money and go with OEM BMW headlights; don't buy that cheap knock off shit.

My HID setup cost me around $1,200 (OEM US E90 Xenon) and that's with the Vista harness.

in this case, OEM would be your best bet and error free

True, the only thing I don't like about this solution (no disrespect to him whatsoever) is that we need to ship the headlight to him (or buy the headlight from him). I don't know much about what he does to the light but if he can make it like a pnp harness, his solution will be even more popular. Oh and making the DRL using the AE should be a plus.
Wishful thinking.

OP: maybe you can find a used set of OEM Xenon housing, just put in your own aftermarket HID kit, would that work?
btw, the headlight in the link you gave, you can find the exact same one on ebay for like $220-$260 (don't know the exact price, but some thing around that range).

its not as easy as throwing the hid system into the headlight. I sell these conversions and it is defiantly a little more then throwing a hid system in and plugging it in to the car.

If you need information pm me.

Not true.

He will send you the hid kit if you have your own lights.
His kit is pretty much plug and play.

You don't have to run any added wires.

The HID system does not just plug into the Xenon Headlight i assure you. The system he uses is a crudely developed custom bulb set up internal headlight wiring is necessary.

The only way the HID system is plug and play is if you purchase a h7 system and install it in your halogen lights. Then it is plug and play but you are still required to drill holes in your low beam back caps... but those caps are about 20 dollars from bmw... so not a big deal

Yes is true. You buy and H7 kit and have to tap into the xenon power inside the headlight as well as the ground.

If one is good with wiring, it shouldn't be a problem for you (I did it myself and was easy as pie). Also the kit I got from him is the exact same kit you are selling as well.

If you get headlights that had the adaptive feature, you are lucky and can slip the wires thrown that opening rather than making a hole on the back cover. If you have to drill a hole, make sure it is the back cover and not the headlights housing (as damon said, only $20 to replace)

Sorry when I said added wires, I meant like running a relay harness.

Wiring modifications will need to be done inside the headlight.
