A bunch of bug fixes mostly and minor interface issues. The most annoying bug that went away were those infernal shopping carts. There was also the issue of the car not remembering that the radio was set to presets after being turned off. All that is discussed in various threads here. There hasn't been anything major added though.

Actually, to be precise, most of these fixes are from the CIC software update (ISTA/P), not the nav.

OP, the latest maps are 2010.1 released just this month. I don't know the corresponding nav. system version. It is later than 1.4.6, which goes with 2009.2 maps. The later nav adds roads and POIs. We are trying to figure out what the nav version implies.

are the 2010.1 maps only for 09+ iDrive? The latest DVD release from Navteq is 2009.1 as far as I know.
Is there another way to get updates for us prehistoric creatures with DVD based systems?

OK.. I'm alittle confused now-
Is 2010.1 available for a 2009 328xi? My current version is 2009.1 and I've had issues with it!
The car goes into BMW next Thrus for service and would like to talk to them about this.... having updated good info from here has helped me before when I talked with my dealer. That plus a bottle of something! LOL

It is sad that a company like BMW can't get their Navi system in order. Updates should come out every few months to 6 months and be able to be installed either through service calls or just wirelessly..
And the cost should be economical. $200 for an update is unacceptable. Especially if you don't know what that update holds depending on where you drive~

Always

Latest map version for LCI iDrive nav is 2010.1 and I will fight to get it.

As per you opinions on their product, I agree! See this:

TSB link to 1.4.6 ?
I got the shopping cart issue fixed but the radio preset after shutting down still exists.
I'm currently running the following...

NA
BMW
1.2.8
Road Map North America PREMIUM 2009-1

I'm building a list of fixes for my 1 year service appointment

Sorry, can't help you. I have 1.46 because my entire CIC was replaced. I didn't have a specific TSB, and in fact, have no idea how to find TSBs.

No prob, I will just mention the radio preset complaint and that 1.4.6 has a fix for it. My service advisor is pretty easy to work with. Thx

Navigation system version 1.4.6 does not fix the presets. (Actually, we don't know what 1.4.6 fixes at all.)

ISTA/P is the CIC software. ISTA/P 35.4 and later fix the presets issue. ISTA/P is up to 36.x now.

Ah thanks for clearing that up. I will be getting 36.0.1.0 the next time I go in anyway so that should fix it up. Thx

Latest Nav Version for HDD Navigation

According to my dealer, there is a 2010.09 version for my 2010 335i Convertible. They have been trying to update mine (2009.2) for the last three days but the download aborts after two or three hours. BMW rep coming tomorrow with his own computer.

02/18/10 Update. The BMW Regional rep with his codes was able to update the Navigation maps to Premium 2010 version. Took about 3+ hours to download.

Richard

Dumb question, but how do you determine the version? I have a MY 2010 with a 12/2009 build date. Thanks!

2010-1 NA maps have been recalled. Per BMWNA, the maps database is corrupt and no successful installs are possible.

2010 Navigation Maps

Finally, after 4 days trying to download, each time aborting the download, and with help from BMW's regional rep and a great service advisor and foreman (BMW of Riverside), the dealership was able to update the navigation maps from 2009.2 to 2010. It is working so far.

When displaying the version it says:

NA
BMW Group
112.9104.12
North America Premium 2010.
