My Bimmer F'ed in Accident now with pics
I Tboned a guy running a red light without his lights on at 10pm
I did not have a chance to see him until it was too late. I walked away with some wrist pain and air bag dust in my face. The BMW was superb in the way it sheltered me. I hope no pain gremlins show up as I am writing this. I was going around 30/35 and my front end is all f'ed up all airbags went off. Have not recieved the estimate from insurance but i sort of doubt its a total. Can you guys recommend a shop thats good at both extensive mechanical as well as body work? I am leaning towards Today's Collision repair in Malden as they are used my BMW Peabody. They seem to be highly recommended and have a nice facility. Has anyone here used them and can comment or heard anything about them? I hope the car has no frame damage, but I want to pick a shop that can handle that if the need is there. Will post some pics of the before and after I really miss my car and hate myself for not avoiding the accident even though it was very hard to avoid... The gf jeep is nice but it handles like a bloated cow on ice. Last edited by hifidawg09; 01-18-2010 at 11:58 AM.. |

Sorry to hear about your accident. If all your airbags went off, your car probably is a write off at this point coz it will be more expensive to replace those airbags than to fix your car. Also, if you truly t-boned someone at that speed, then might also be looking at frame damage, which would also be a write off on your '07.
As far as repairs go, body work I would recommend Phil Jr at Sansossio Auto Body. He can also do all the mechanical work, or if it gets too complicated, he can always call for help from Bavarian Performance Group.

Thanks for the help guys. I am still waiting to hear from the insurance co. I am betting they will have some sort of raw deal for me. I am going to go take pictures today for my own records. Not sure if I should hope for more damage and write off the car or less and repair it back to health. Frame damage sounds like a PITA to fix and live with.

Glad to hear you are ok..
Hopefully it's a total.. you don't want that car back after an accident serious enough to deploy the airbags... |

sorry to hear about your accident, but good then you're alive.
I've heard Phil Jr at Sansossio Auto Body & Dick's is good but Dick's has a long wait list. You have to book with them 2 months in advance.

Munroe Auto Body in Watertown, MA. I believe they do all the work for the Lexus dealership that is right next door and they have done work on my friend's car, my old G coupe, my gf's RSX. Peter is an awesome and honest guy. PM me if you want some more info.

Today's Collision is excellent - top notch professionals. I've used them several times over the years. I understand lots of the Red Sox use them for their cars. You won't be dissapointed. BMW Peabody uses them for good reason.

I will try to post some pics today. I am in a C300 and its nice and all but it no where near the 335xi in all aspects. Good to know that Today's is a good place. Right now its sort of a draw between Todays Collision and Dicks but I am going to personally stop by and check them out. Also thanks for other recommendation I will check them out as well. Its going to hurt to take those pictures I have been avoiding it for some time...

Sorry to hear about that...but at least you are okay. I had to take my car to a bodyshop 2 weeks ago due to a hit and run in broad daylight on Boylston St. with no witnesses (yeah...my luck). Since all airbags are deployed, my guess is the same as most others, that your car will most likely be declared totaled. In which case its new car time If not, I'm not sure if you've already decided on a shop yet, but from my research, BMW of Sudbury is the only BMW CCRC (certified collision repair center) in a half hour vicinity of my area in Watertown. I would've taken my car there, but Commerce wouldn't approve due to their elevated labor rates. If I wanted to get my car repaired there, I would've had to pay out of my own pocket for the difference. I ended up taking my car to A-Z Auto Center in Brighton based on reviews and testimonials (they have one in Cambridge too). Once I get my car back, I will post a little review of my experience. I just wanted to share with you the option of BMW of Sudbury if you are interested. Best of luck!
