just picked up my 335i from the Performance Center..

for those of you on the fence about picking up your cars from the BMW Performance Center in Greenville, jump! it was a total blast and well worth the trip. on top of the ultimate driving experience, the presentation of your car is top notch. here are a couple shots of my car in / out front of the lobby of center. one more thing that i used to be concerned about - i drove back from greenville to orlando (7 hours) averaging between 90-98 mph for the entire trip (except for the one stop for gas) and the oil temp never exceeded 250 degrees. ever.

I hope you were able to get all those nasty dead bugs and guts off your brand new 335i's front bumper after that 900 mi. drive!!! Seriously, I bet the whole BMW Performance Ctr. experience was a real blast! Enjoy your 335i Coupe...it's gorgeous.

Yup, you're a brave man...driving your spanking brand new White BMW 335i Coupe all the way from S. Carolina to Central FL! Glad you got all the bugs off though. Enjoy!

It's 600 miles. I know because I did it back on May 10th. As architom said, nothing beats Performance Center Delivery. I too had a blast. And Orlando is actually a 550 mile drive from Greenville; I'm in Tampa which is farther. And Tom, I have no idea how you averaged 100MPH on the trip because there is a known speed trap (a huge one at that) just as you enter Florida and cross the Georiga border; one that I got nailed at in fact, but luckily was let off with a warning (I think the fact that I was a Florida resident coming back home helped).

...sorry you got nailed but glad you got off. my radar detector was going off like an alarm clock a few times but i managed to miss that speed trap you're referring to. the only reason i kept it under 100 was that i was trying to be conscientious of the "break in" period.

Same here. On my ride home I got up to 98MPH at one point but I'd say I averaged about 85MPH. I think I got nailed doing 84MPH in a 70MPH zone. One of the other reasons he let me off is because he checked my record and I don't have a ticket to date. He came back, handed me the warning ticket printout and said "I didn't want to be the one to give you your first ticket."

I felt obligated to stay in the right lane and do the speed limit (or 5MPH over) the rest of the way home. Lucky for me it was only another 150 miles or so.
