LUX H8

So I'm driving to work this morning and both my angels are on. I have the LUX H8. About 20mins later I realize that my passenger side angels wasn't lighting up anymore. But my car didn't give me any errors. I get to work, pop the hood, pop the light compartment, and what do I see? My LUX H8 popped out of the socket. I knew I installed it correctly and tightly. Must had been the potholes here in NYC that knocked it loose. Will this be a frequent occurrence? I checked my driver side and it's still on tightly.

Yah, I wish they came with a thin gasket to help secure it.

That's been my fear since I installed them back in September. You're the first I have read this has happened to.

You are supposed to remove the gasket off your old H8 halogen bulbs, and install them onto the LUX before you put them in!

I had to take an exacto knife and trim just a little bit of height off to get them to seat, but now they are in like flynn.

I never knew that!
I haven't had any issues without the gasket installed though.

To the OP, that's exactly how mine are right now. The driver side locks in securely but the passenger side is loose. It fits in but doesn't lock in and can easily fall out or move from its position.

For now, I'm holding it in place with some electrical tape so it doesn't move around and fall out but eventually I will have to find a fix or do what the other member said and use the OEM H8 bulb gasket.

Please let me know if you find a solution as I'm having the same issue as you are.

Thanks.

This is Not correct. the very first version of LUX H8's did require you to use the old rubber gasket from the H8 bulb, but that has since been changed. THis only applied to the first 10 sets that went out.

All versions of LUX H8 Do use a rubber o-ring to secure the lights into place. The rubber o-ring has been designed to hold and secure the headlight into place.

The 1 or 2 issues that i have heard of is that the LUX H8 does not always hold 100% securely. Due to the manufacturing design and tolerances of the OEM Headlight, i have heard this issue once before. If you are experencing and issue where the bulb appears to be loose, please , please send me a PM and i'll work with you to get things straightened out right away.

With the next batch of the LUX H8's, i will be using a different o-ring to prevent these issues. That doesn't mean however, that there is anything wrong with the current ones out there, its just to prevent the 1 or 2 issues with securing them into place.

Haven't had that problem and I've had them in since September or so. I put mine in real tight though.

Ive had the same issue. I think mine comes loose from all the bumpy roads and snow ruts I drive on. If I drove on smooth roads it would have probably been fine. I sent you a PM Marc.

Marc is great! One of the best vendors on here. Marc, I still have a bunch of O rings you sent me. The thing is that the groove is only large enough for 1 O-ring and if I put on another one, it doesn't stay into place and just dangles.

Are you going to be releasing another version of the O-ring anytime soon?

Thanks!
