Future of PROcede/JB3 with new release of N55/335is/Power Kit

Any representatives from either company want to chime in on what the future plans are for supporting the new 2011 N55 engines, 2011 335is upgraded N54 engine, and/or the BMW Performance Power Kit?

Don't you think they will have to wait and get their hands on one first?

I'm sure they both are going to look at it, but that may take a while. They both have to first aquire a N55 to do testing. I'm sure you are going to get "we are interested in the new platform and will put time into R&D once it's available on the market, blah, blah, blah from both camps."

+1 Its going to take a while, but it will be done...Look how long its taken for the N54 tune to be where they are now....I was there every step of the way with Vishnutuning on the N54 platform, it didn't happen overnight, but with each new revision and logic its gotten to the point that it is NEAR PERFECT....I can't wait to try V4 tomorrow..With the N55, it will have to go through its different stages to get to where we are with the N54 engine

The JB3 and JB+ are fully compatible with the BMW power kit, although there is no benefit to getting the BMW power kit unless you need the extra cooling.

The N55 is an entirely new platform, with a new ECU, and BMS will be working on a tuning product for it very shortly. They also have a twin-turbo diesel application in the works.

Power Kit for N55

My dealer just told me that I would get the power kit for my new 335i Coupé (n55 engine) which will be built in march and delivered in april. The price is 19995 SEK (about 3000 USD) plus mounting.

Nice link...

As to Bmw saying it will be 'tuner proof' alot of companies have said that.
But maybe the valvetronic will really take away its tuning abilities even more so than we thought.

And as for the N54 being underated and the N55 not being, this is what a couple magazines and bimmerfile has said before. If it is true, than better start buying used 335i's you tuner guys

The n55 will certainly be tunable. it may not see the same tuning gains as the n54. Nor may be be as structurally sound. So expect initial tunes to be conservative

Shiv, right now do you think you're going to be able to implement all that you have learned from the N54 onto the N55 platform? So it wouldn't take as many tune transformations like there were for the n54 (ie. jb1,2,3 v1,2,3,4 etc.)

Nope... we'll go straight to v4 implementation with the n55. With CAN integration, we are cutting out the usual trial and error work of having to figure out what the DME wants and how it works. That is what took so long to getting to this final point with the n54.

^Nice makes sense, so nobody has heard any news of high potential with the n55 engine? As a n54 driver i am really curious to see how much potential the n55 has.
