We have bought a lip spoiler for our E92 and had it painted in TiAg silver (perfect match). It is from eBay and at £45 I suspect it is a replica of the M3 spoiler - although it looks identical. It appears to be good quality and have a good paint job on it.

However it required bending to fit to the curved contour of the boot lid. If two of us hold it we can bend it to shape - it already has two strips of 3M tape to hold it down.

I have searched the forum and read through countless threads on lips spoilers and I'm slightly confused... Can somebody confirm if it is okay to apply a 'bendy' spoiler to the boot lid or should we not have to bend it for it to fit?

The real one has 100% fitment, no bending required. This is the risk you take by buying a replica. As long as it sticks after you bend it and it looks good to you, no harm done.

My M3 style lip spoiler required slight bending to fit the contour of my E90 rear deck lid. Mine also had the 3M tape already applied, but when installed, the ends of the spoiler were not stuck down. I blame this on improperly applied 3M tape. If I were you, I'd really make sure that tape was installed correctly all the way to the ends! It was definately a job for two people.
