ordering from amazon....

So I've only ordered books and such from Amazon. I've been thinking of ordering this from there...

Bowflex SelectTech 1090 Single dumbells
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OC5RXE/...SIN=B000OC5RXE

They are hands down the cheapest for this product. But again I've never spent more then $20 on a product from Amazon and I'm kinda hesitant about spending $300 there.

What do you guys think? Any worries?

BTW.. anyone have these? Yay or Nay?

I read through the reviews. Nothing but good. Just wanted to see if I could get a review from someone I kinda know in a way through here.

^^+1. I buy a lot of my stuff from Amazon. It usually turns out to be the cheapest also.

i've spent thousands and thousands on amazon with no worries. amazon is most legit e-tailer out there. even their return process is painless and free...yes, they'll refund your original shipping fees and not charge you for the return shipping if you return it.

amazon prime is well worth it if you continue to use them a lot. $79/year for free 2 day air shipping/$3.99 overnight shipping...i've gotten my money's worth a few times over. amazon ftw

Amazon is legit as any store can get. I bought my SLR and Canon L lens from them.

Regarding the dumbbells: I bought them from Amazon on Black Friday 2009 for $300 and ended up returning them because they would get stuck on the base after having them sit for 1 hour+. Minor gripe but annoying. I'd have to rotate the weight knob 360 before they would release again.

Look at the reviews I may have gotten a fluke or incorrectly used them. The return was painless with Amazon paying for shipping back. Everything else worked great...seemed like a minor design issue as both dumbbells did it.

EDIT: I bought the 552's. Amazon Prime is great if you plan on shopping there a lot.

+1. Amazon had my camera for $100 cheaper, plus I saved $120 in sales tax. I know a lot of people are all about supporting local businesses, but I'm not gonna blow $220 to keep someone else's business afloat.

Plus there aren't really any local businesses any more.

How many local camera shops are there? Even in Hollywood most of the camera shops are chains. I bought my camcorder at Calumet, for example. I ended up paying $200 more for it than if I had bought it from Amazon. If I had bought my Mac Pro from the Apple Store I would have paid $300 in sales tax. Instead I paid slightly under MSRP plus I got overnight shipping for 4 dollars.

Amazon rules, especially if you go Prime.

Amazon + Amazon prime = spoiled for me. $80 for free 2day shipping on everything is awesome. I have spent well over 1k on amazon this past 6 months or so, buying books, backpack for my vacations, computer parts, got my dad a 50" plasma for xmas, all kinds of crap.

Amazon = amazing if you can wait a couple days after purchase, lol

Exactly. It just doesn't make sense financially to knowingly overpay for something just because the store is "local". We do have a local non-chain camera store here, but I tend to get ignored because I'm college-age and the salespeople figure I'm not going to buy professional equipment or whatever...which is ironic because that's exactly what I'm buying.

Like everyone has said, amazon is super legit. I actually bought the select techs from amazon myself and the shipping was pretty quick. Perfect condition, etc. etc. DO IT!!

Powerblock adjustable dumbbells are superior to bowflex products in all ways.
