I just quickly waxed my car using Meguiars' quick wax (a 40 minutes wax job). This is the forth time I waxed my car in 1.5 years. I guess some wax is better then no wax. The car's paint surface feels oily to the touch after wax. There seems to be plenty of roughness in the touch as well because I have never clay bar the car . I just cannot see myself clay bar the whole car, that would take forever. I have never clay bar any car my entire life either. I wonder how much would someone charge for doing clay bar?

I have used up a couple up here in foul weather Canada and my car at 48,000kms still looks like shite!!

Stick with what you're using, you don't need amything else!



BUT - if you want to get rid of the roughness, the clay bar end to end would only take you about 15 minutes. Never trust someone else to do on your car what you can do yourself! You'll figure out after about one minute how to clay bar. It isn't rocket science.

In your secong picture you have "Quick wax", and your mentioned "Quick detailer" in your post. Those are two different things....the detailer is a cleaning product (people use it with the clay as a lube), and quich wax is one of the worst products you can buy! I tried that stuff once and i will never ever use it again! It drys as like a powder and really does nothing for the finish of the car! So in all honestly unless you used their "carnuba car wax" you really didn't wax your car..I am not a zanio man either, (price and length of time it takes), but quick wax is shit! As for the rough finish, Wash it again, and use quick deatiler with or without clay, (with clay would do better), and then use a real wax! Mgu.'s makes a bunch of them, make sure all you get is a Carnuba wax for protection, or a Cleaner wax to help clean the paint some more!!

lol, thanks. I have 27,000+ miles. actually the front lower bumper has plenty of scratches.

Sorry, I corrected it to wax. It does leave an oily feel to the surface as i stated. But I don't think it last that long. Other wax also leave a hazy powery coat where you need a clean tower to buff it off? It seems to work for me. Wax on wax off in 40 minutes.

i used the cheap meguiar's carnuba wax a few times and it worked for a few weeks. i guess you don't get the zaino shine but as you said, some wax is better than no wax...

Is it a paste type wax and does it turns hazy and you have to buff it off?

I tried Zaino for the first time this past weekend and I will never use anything else........and it smells so good. I told my wife I should use it as a body wash for myself.........(then she told me to go back into the garage):rocks: :rocks:

hahaha, that funny with the body wash. One of my problem with Zaino is they have so many products, I hear ppl using z4, z5, z7, z8 i don't know what to use. I think with their line of products, they cater to the more hardcore detailer folks.

no, it was a liquid (more-less). it said carnuba wax on the bottle.

ahh, the beauty of TiAg, nothings easier to maintain. my car is 7 months old and looks as good as the day i picked her up and all i do is use P21s every couple of months and hand wash every couple of weeks. i personally would never clay bar or zaino my car myself but i would pay an expert to do it.

Yes, i agreed, the TiAg color is very easy to maintain. I had black car before and you can see every little scratches. Once I run out of the quick wax bottle, i might try something else. But I really do not want to but too much time into it.

my last bmw(e46) was also black and i used to see all the little scratches too. i think the bmw looks great in black (for about 24 hours) but its way too much work for me.

If you're in CA, use www.lazaino.com. These guys are great and you'll probably get your stuff quicker than from the Zaino store in NJ.

That is what scares me away from that products, look at the amount of steps from the instruction, I would be dead tire by the time I finish and no time to drive and enjoy my car. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah - but the juice is worth the squeeze. I washed my car for the third time since applying the Zaino and the water repelling and beading properties was just like I'd done it fresh. The stuff is that amazing. Having to spend 2-3 hours applying once every 6 months for this level of shine and protection is a no brainer if you drive a black car.

The problem with Zaino is that their product naming convention is intimidating.

Zaino Instructions
Z-7 wash - Rinse – Dry – Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5 with ZFX –Remove polish – Z-6 or Z-8

Translation
1) Wash car.
2) Apply polish
3) Use a gloss enhancer (optional for that factory fresh paint look)

Note: If you're lazy you can skip step 3.

After that you just wash the car to keep it clean - a major time saver since you don't have to wax/polish for another 6 months!

From your first post, you said this was the fourth time in 1.5 years you had waxed your car. With Zaino, you would only now be due for your third. And I promise you would get much better results in between applications, not to mention the protection.

I'm also a Meguiars fan. Have been using it forever.
Claying isn't that bad. It took me about 3 hours to clay and wax my car and the results were well worth the effort as you can see in this post:

Like he said Tex..... Get off yer butt read the instructions and your mind will be instantly blown!! Okay, so my arm almost fell of after doing mine, but i washed and waxed my wife's X5 as well as all the other chores around our place on a long weekend. If you get a couple of nice fluffy white towels it goes real quick!!!!

I got the polish off of Ebay, probably could have got it cheaper from Zaino, but I never back down from a bidding war.

At one of my local dealer, they applied this coating on the car ($1500) when brand new and they strip the coat every 5 yrs and re-apply it. The water has no chance to bead, it just dripped right off the surface. Does water stay on your car after you zaino it?
