leak ..
if this is a AT car, it could be the seal and sleeve for the mechatronics ..
if so, its a pretty straight forward repair - if the dealer has the parts (which they should) it'll be pretty quick and you should have your car back same day... most of the time |

after I picked up my car on Thursday, I found the ATF still leaks. Drove back to dealership again and hopefully I can get my car back on Monday.

IF thats the case the tech who did your car has no idea what he is doing because changing out the sleeve and the gasket should have solved the problem...

BMW will often have them replace the mechatronic sleeve and gasket. Then, if it is leaking still, they will authorize a pan replacement. I think it is around a $600 repair! Mine is seeping right now, but not dripping on the ground yet.

It gets progressively worse as it seems the weather plays a big role in it also once the gasket is defective and showing signs of leak....Replacing the sleeve and the gasket will and should solve all the leaks...Dealers will not be so quick to change out the pan because its the most expensive part..

They should have replace both pan gasket and sealing sleeve. That's what they did with mine. I don't see how or why the tech would only replace one thing and wait to see if the other thing leaks to get authorization to replace it. I always thought dealers had a saying "fix it right the first time" so they don't get comebacks.

I backed my car out of the garage this morning and noticed a nice trail of oil. It too is from the middle of the car. It did not look like engine oil so maybe it is the same thing. Guess I better make a phone call too before my factory warranty is out.

Most people who park their cars on the streets will not even know that their tranny pan is leaking oil because it really is unheard of in a new car and they would not look at the ground after they leave their parking space in the streets...Its a good thing for those with AT tranny to look out for this....It looks as though from this thread and one that Toadhollow started that there is a significant amount of people that have this issue...I went to the dealeship and the SA said that he has seen two cars in the showroom with maybe 2 miles on them leaked tranny fluid...Since I fixed the problem with my car, the car seems to shift much better...Looking at my aftermarket exhaust, I have a large brown spot on it near where it leaked, like oil was cooking on the pipes for a while...This leak of mine was happening for a while and I didn't notice it until it became increasing worse to the point it leaked onto my garage floor, but looking at the exhaust this was happening for a while..

At this point just wait and see if it leaks again and document it with pictures....and when it does just bring it in again, make sure you tell them to take it to the lift immediately and show them the fluid...
