Procede V4 Stage 4 going to run the 1/4 mile tonight!

I loaded up the most recent maps today and I will be going to the 1/4 mile track tonight for some test runs.. This will be my first time taking this car to the track but I have experience in other cars (330Ci, G35). Do you think it is worth adding a few gallons of 100 octane that they sell at the track? It's $10 a gallon! Any tips on launching or shift points would be greatly appreciated!

265/30/19 General Exclaim UHP's rear tires with about 10% tread left, so if I end up with 2.5 60ft times than that is probably the reason, lol.

See if you can log a couple of times down the track. Maybe you could do 93 octane for a couple then mix in some 100 and try it again. Bring ignition correction down when you mix in the 100 octane.

On pump gas, you aren't going to break any records. So if you run race gas, try to run close to 100% race gas. So get your tank low by the time you fill up. And then put in as much 100oct as you can afford This will allow you to drop your Ignition Correction from the default of 100% to 0% and pick up another 30whp or so.

That's pretty much it. Although I think you'll do better when the 6MT maps come out since the current 6AT maps start rolling off boost up top. I'm going to the drag strip this weekend (weather permitting) to make 6MT maps.

If if your prior drag racing experience was with a 330 and g35, you're in for a lot of work tonight. Practice practice. Even datalog the runs if you can so you can go back and look at your performance. It's your first time drag racing this car. And it's a 6MT. You have a challenge ahead of you.

Good luck. Get Ignition correction suggestions from Shiv if you can. With 93 octane on the 10-9 maps I could do around 50-60% IC. With a 50/50 93/100 octane mix maybe 20-30% IC.

Get some more input.

** Edit. I see Shiv chimed in. awesome. I hope you get at least a couple times down the track.

Have fun!

Are you going to sunshine speedway? curious to hear the results!
Hope the weather hold up....Maybe the clouds will keep the crowds down.

That 25 mph tail wind you will have won't hurt the times either..

My suggestion to Malaka1 was to just forget about launching hard and just take off as he would on the street. This means running with the DTC ON and shifting as fast and cleanly as he can.

With the DTC on and running Generals, the car will be cutting power in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. But at least it will stay pointed ahead and get him down the strip with minimal drama.

yes! do this, especially if track prep is bad. i just ran mine on stock m3 rims with their huge tires and the conditions were worse than the street...if i launched above 2krpm off the line it would just bounce off the limiter, if i shifted into second and floored it, again...i'd do a burn out for a second(recorded on datalog)pegging the limiter and enough to fog them up slightly...first 550ft was pointless and after that was minor traction issues... all on stage1. my foot is made of lead and i had tons of fun. was not intending to break any records. haha next time i'll go with K1's and drag radials.

I can maybe see a 12.8-13.0 on those tires with a 6mt. Trap should be solid with cold weather. My car ran a best of 12.8 at 118 on street tires and was spinning all 1-4. I will never run on street tires again. My guess would be 12.9x at 117.
