Arrow 18 ohm or 24 ohm board? WTF?!

I tried to find answer for this one like million times on this forum but never got any answer.

What is this thing with somekinda boards?
I've seen that some people are running 18 ohm and someothers 24 ohm.

How do I know which I've? and Do I need to change it if so why then?

Could someone please explain this to me.

Thanks.

most likey you do not have a 18ohm board you would to need special order it..

it allows more boost then the 24ohm I.E 18ohm would hold around 17-18psi peak around 20psi its insane vs the 24ohms 14-16 psi.

Check the DIY section on BMS' forum for details. If you are unsure what you have then you have the 24 ohm normal safety resistors and do not need 18 ohm. The 18ohm is a special order board which removes some hardware safety.

As many know the JB3 has 24ohm safety resistors built in, which limit performance on race gas to around 410rw. This is enough power to run high 11s in a properly setup car. For those wanting more, who understand the risks, you can replace them with 18ohm resistors. Directions are the same for G2 or G3 board.

Benefits:
1) Ability to hold another 1-2psi peak when coupled with race maps.
2) Potentially another 20-30 RW on race gas and/or methanol.

Drawbacks:
1) Much faster compressor wear.
2) Potential for inconsistent pump gas performance/sloppy boost control on lower maps. With 2.0 you'll be able to change some PID parameters to help with this, but don't expect the same smooth control you get with 24ohm resistors.
3) Requires car to be in tip top shape or you will misfire like crazy.
4) Higher risk of catastrophic failure.
5) You need to know how to solder, or know someone who does. As BMS will not perform this modification for you. We don't want the liability or support hassles.
-Taken from BMS forum.

You most likely have a 24ohm unless you or someone else (bought used?) modded your JB3 board.

Just open it and read the numbers on the resistors.
