New exhaust (Mod 7)....

Mod 1 - Tints (as picked up by someone on the forum)
Mod 2 - Wheels soon to be changed out I think) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=340677
Mod 3 - Grills
Mod 4 - Even newer wheels
Mod 5 - AST Nanotech paint sealant; well see if this ends up being snakeoil or not
Mod 6 - Bootlid spoiler
Mod 7 - Custom exhaust (with DCT wheeze ) This vid doesn't do it justice IMO. Always difficult when you're in the car but it sounds great with roof down; some crazee backfire/ crackle thing happens at 3krpm gearchanges on fairly open throttle too which sounds wicked.

I think you need some inspiration when it comes to exhaust videos.... IMO this is how it should be done....

I think thats a 355??

Problem is; its got 2 extra cylinders in the right config and doesn't have 2 hairdryers quietening things down either!!

Its hard to get these cars sounding good; and I'm glad (personally) we dont have a 'boxer' sound too; i think mine is a good job!

'rarris sound freakin great all the way tho'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of my backfires going from 2nd to 3rd sound like explosions. Funny shit watching pedestrians scramble, then expect to see a 1972 falcon roar past. Also, if I feather the throttle at low speed, it gurgles like silvia saint. I might try get some video this afternoon.

How do you get the youtube video to show in the post rather than just a link?

That ferrari is running a Mille Miglia exhaust made by hitech in sydney. Same exhaust brand as myself and a few others on here

www.millemiglia.com.au the 335i exhaust and video is actually of my car, except it sounds much different now with downpipes and FMIC

The backfiring is pretty funny. The new procede map actually doesn't seem to backfire as much at WOT gear shifts. It's got something to do with the wastegates keeping the turbo's spooled so when you shift up a gear, there is no 'bog' or lag. So it's an induction blow off through the exhaust or something like that. While on the topic, these new maps are incredible....totally different car, no joke. So all those who haven't updated....do it!!

If my car was warm, i'd go get some video now...but I am feeling lazy. Hopefully soon

Just did some datalogs and emailed them to Shiv.
V4 Stage 2 saw 17.5psi. (I was surprised, it seemed just too high), but boy did it go well.
Back to Stage 1 for now, which is pretty good.

Shouldn't be hitting boost that high. Were you reading that from the log where you shifted up a gear? Because it's normal to see on the datalogs a 1-2psi spike at the gear shift which is not actually seen by the engine or boost gauges - just the sensor where the procede reads from.

Saw it on the gauge (when you press the button to show you the peak) and then confirmed this on the graph.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the way the DCT pops when changing gears.

Sounds like your issues are boost oscillation due to a bad firmware update. The peak recall on digital gauges can also be misleading because they can measure microscopic fluctuations in boost that are negligible on the engine. The datalogs will give you a better idea, but keep in mind those spikes at the end of each gear are software spikes, not actual boost seen by the engine or gauge.

I couldn't agree more, i installed another procede today and put in V4, i was very impressed and i don't say that willy nilly like often is the case on these forums. I put it in my car last week too. Its a bugger setting up the O2's though for the DP's now its all changed.

I was spwaking with Adrian and I think they're unrelated (complete layman talking tho').

WHe boost spike is common to 6At cars as the boost is maintained when changing up to keep the power up and prevent bog/ lag. Shv explained this on the US forum.

The pop, and this is Adrians educated guess (if i can call it that), is due to his suspicion that the ignition is momentarily retarded at the initiation of a gear change-I think as DCT drivers are more liley to keep the boot in as opposed to lift the accelerator like a 6MT- and thus when ignition is normalised the unspent mixture gets burned straight away causing the pop (f'ing great bang in my case). It makes sense as 'easy' gear-changes are less noticeable than WOT changes (as you know).

JP, have you got an exhaust on too (as well as your DPs)??

Cheers

Thommo

I don't get any poping at the moment running Procede V3 Stage 2. I used to get the poping when running standard.

I haven't got the DP's on yet. I am waiting on an exhaust until the DP's are in place to hear it first.

Thommo and JP, did you fix your boost oscillation issues by reloading the firmware?

Are you guys running the latest firmware and V4 maps? Popping is almost gone on these new maps compared to the older V3 (10-9) maps. My car now pulls like a rocket and boost rarely goes over 15psi and that's on the 3+ map. These new maps are incredible, the power is there through the entire powerband while using less boost. I have noticed though my fuel consumption has been a lot higher...

Actually seemed worse with the new firmware.
But with the original one, it sure did run well and yeah, I found it did use more fuel, but that could have been just the way I was driving it.

Adrian has made some minor adjustments (whilst out data logging with me) and It seems significantly better although not 100% fixed IMO.

I jagged a Serial-USB conecteor last weekend will fit it this weekend and do some data logs on Sunday early morning probably.

In Bali for work this week so no ProCede fun for me until Saturday.
