Well if it were black they would look worse for sure. White and Silver hide a lot. The best way is to polish them out with a machine buffer like a Porter cable or a FLex, but I suppose you could get them out by hand with a good medium cutting compound and a hand foam pad. I think you can get the orange and yellow lake country pads that are for hand use only but it will take a lot more elbow grease. You can get a Porter cable kit with pads and polish for a good price from detailers domain or detailed image. Also chemical guys has a great starter kit as well. I know phil@detailersdomain would rec menzerna SIP and or 106 super finish as the last step then a good wax like Glanz. I went all out and got a Flex 3401 with all the pads and menzerna stuff for my black 135. It is going to depend on if you want to spend the money up front or later on to do it right. With white you may be able to hide them with Einszett Metallic polishwax since it will fill in those areas but it will eventually wash out. It is not actually correcting the paint, but it is far cheaper and will give good results on a white car i think.

As Brad mentioned, the key to removing the swirls and scratches is to properly polish your paint. I'd recommend reading over our polishing guide to get a better idea on what is involved in removing the imperfections.

Your best bet for the best results and little investment would be to use the Porter Cable 7424XP along with the Meguiar's M105 and M205 polishes. I'd recommend investing in the Meg's W67DA backing plate along with 5.5" pads.

Here's an article on using the PC 7424XP and Meg's polishes, which explains the process on how to get the best results.

Hope this helps.

menxerna 203 with a green pad! or for more cut, an orange pad, but some "haziness" might occur requiring you to follow up with a softer polish and pad

check this out, same situation, honda car
