How fast do you go through METH?
Hey guys,
I have had my Coolingmist kit with CMGS controller for about 2 weeks now and loving every moment. The car runs great and really loves the Meth. Question: How fast should I expect to use the water/meth? I've had it on for about two weeks and have used only about 1/5 of the 1.5 gallon tank. I don't get into boost very often but have done quite a few WOT runs to see what it can do. My CMGS controller shows flow when i hit 7lbs and is flowing 100% by 12lbs. I feel it working but I guess I'm a little concerned because the tank is staying full! I know it's not a bad thing to have and I should be happy I'm not refilling my meth tank every few days, however i went through a full tank of gas and again only about 1/5 of the water/meth. Is this normal? I used the smaller spray nossel that was provided with the kit. thanks in advance!

I will go through about a gallon every 2-3 days. If racing around, I go through that much in one day.

I have no controller, so when it turns on its full speed, full flow, even at lower boost levels. So you probably control your usage more efficiently. However, my friend has the same setup as me, and he easily goes a week without refilling. So obviously driving habits come into play also..

So it sounds like mine is pretty normal? I don't drive much during the week. To and from work for the most part. Only 4 miles each way.

You can calculate it based on your nozzle and pressure. I flow approx 670 ml/min at full injection. That means I flow a gallon every 5 minutes and 40 seconds or so. So at my flow level, I can have full injection on a 2.5 gallon tank for a little over 14 minutes.

Well mine is set pretty low too (about 7psi), and its pretty hard not to exceed 7psi in any moderate type of acceleration. Besides, I enjoy feeling the acceleration that pulls you back into seat every chance I get.

Funny I was thinking about making a thread about this because I've been using meth for about 4 days and I already used 3 galllons mixed with distilled water, so I know what hotrod is talking about.....

Just because you have the meth system installed, doesn't mean that it is needed at all times is what I am trying to say.. |

When i'm on the freeway and I accelerate enough to hit 4 psi and I see the green light go on, I'm happy that I'm doing my engine justice. That's another reason to have it come on earlier. Having said this, I add a gallon once a week.

daily and spirited drving.
1.5 Gallons / 500 -750 Miles Turned on around 7 PSI. Running an M9 nozzle. 80/20 Meth/water. If you have some run ins, with several back to back runs you can eat up a good 1/4 tank easy in one sitting. When I daily drive, I never boost, especially not near 7 PSI. I like my MPG too. Hmmm Maybe I just drive like a Grandma most of the time!
I rarely get into boost driving to work so I guess that explains why I'm not using very much meth. I just want to make sure I don't have a clog or it's not spraying correctly being that I have my jb3 to map7 and only 91 in the tank. Car feels great though. No knock or flat spots. The car really loves the meth and higher map!

I plan to use a nozzle (actually dual nozzle m7, m3) that flow's 10 gallons per hour so that works out to about 630ml/minute; with a 2.5 gallon tank I can spray for 15 minutes straight! OP, It all depends on your driving habit's and how far/how much you drive to determine how long your Meth will last. In your case not much with a 4 mile commute. You could probably do with a 4 quart tank and be fine. But for others, like me in Houston I can drive 40 minutes one way to get to where I am going. And I like to get into boost so I will use more Meth. That is why I opted for a 2.5 gallon tank. 15 minutes of straight Methanol injecting bliss. Plus I am getting a basic kit so I don't want to have to worry about running dry during a run; if the racetrack is an hour away I don't want to worry about having to fill the tank.
