Help me pick (or suggest) a PC 7424XP deal
Total Newb; done quite a bit of research but still not sure which "package" to get
Looking to buy everything to polish/remove light to moderate swirls and LSP. Thinking of going with the 105/205 or Ziano products..... http://www.autogeek.net/porter-cable-7424xp.html http://www.detailedimage.com/DI-Pack...P-65-Kit-P333/ http://classic-motoring.stores.yahoo...brmekitw2.html http://www.chemicalguys.com/category_s/119.htm also open to any other combos or a la carte pads.... Thanks! PS. exterior color is BSM |

Zaino is generally hand applied not a machine. Not sure what results would occur/ Do you need paint correction done, IE swirls, holograms, etc? The DI kit has all the pads you'll need.

Swirls, holograms, some fine scratches...I got it all! Didn't know the Zaino was hand only - in that case would be using something else.
Thanks for looking out! |

In my opinion the Classic Motoring kit is the best complete package for removing almost everything from your paint. I am a big M105/205 fan having used those products extensively for a bunch of different conditions and the stuff is amazing. The only thing you'd need is clay, some microfibers and an LSP. I also have BSM and the Meg's combo is incredible.
If you're anywhere near Tampa you can stop into Proper Auto Care (Classic Motoring) and avoid the shipping charges and get a discount. My close second choice would be the Detailed Image package.

I'm in Jacksonville - so shipping would be cheap and fast... I got some MF towels, and am going to buy a clay kit at autozone (reccomemend me one?).... what should I use for LSP.. I'm open to suggestions..my last bimmer was AW so I didn't care for it as mush as I should have.... I devoting the entire Presidents Day to detailing my new car - I should have it all in by then (still researching which bundle to get)

I use Zaino as my LSP and love the shine and durability in FL. I have found sealants to last much longer in our environment. If you decide you like the Classic Motoring kit add in some of their BlackFire Wet Diamond sealant to your order. Another decent LSP that is available OTC is the Meg's NXT 2.0.
As for clay, you might be able to find the Mother's clay bar kit OTC. I've used it before and it's good.

what pad combo should I choose? Is the yellow for deep scratches? If so, which one do you think I should double up on as I dont have anything deep (fingernail test?)
I'm hearing good things about the CSS pads - how do UBER brand ones compare? Thanks! |

dont get the yellow pads = waste of time with lots of clean up from my experiences with them. They are good for getting through oxidation though if its really bad
I would get the PCXP with 105/205 and also pick up some menzerna FPII and BFWD for a good sealant pads - get about 4 orange, 3 white/green, 2 blue, 2 black then you are going to want the rest of the supplies, but those are the main ones I use personally, FWIW |

I don't think you have tried our yellow pads yet have you? they are not the typical pads, and most pros are finishing down with them quite nicely.

We also have this PC 7424XP + M105/M205 + W67DA backing plate and 4x pads
Probably your best case scenario considering what you are looking at. Also be sure to check out this M105 / M205 how-to in order to help maximize your results. The Meg's polishes should be primed on the pad prior to use, unlike the Menzerna polishes. Can't go wrong w/ that combo ![]() Keep us posted on how things turn out for you. |

Yep I so impressed with BFWD I ordered a bottle for my in between polishing seals. I put one thin coat of Natty's on top it and it really does pop.
