Picked up my new 320d yesterday. As you'd expect, having fun playing with the gadgets etc. Will post some pics and initial impressions over the weekend.

Congrats - I remember the feeling when it finally arrived!

18" rims - must be feeling every ants' bone you roll over ;-)

That is a nice colour - much nicer in real life than what I've seen in the brochures... (and thankfully not grey or silver, aka sparkling grey)

Hi Paul,

Congrats mate how very exciting! I hope you have the best time getting acquainted with your new baby!

I'm wondering when you ordered yours?
I ordered a 320d on November the 6th 09, expecting it sometime in late Feb to March.

Cheers,
Burto

Actually really enjoying the road feel. Roads here are generally better than Sydney and Melbourne - used to live in Melb, not sure how the 18"s would go on the tram tracks. Steering heavier than my Passat which gives a much better sense of control. Loving the sports seats, used to slide out of my seat when cornering in the VW. Everything feels solid and precise.

Will post some pics tomorrow after a clean up. Anyone used the BMW wash/care products that come with the car? Or should I cough up for some premium products?

Placed the order with Auto Classic on 12/11/09 and took delivery on 3/2/10. Was a factory order. I know the order got into one of the last December production slots that Auto Classic had from BMW. Didn't expect it until later in the month but got the call from Auto Classic last week.

May as well use the wash that came with the car. Try to get a wash mitt that is either micro fibre or wool. Use 2 buckets to wash the car, one for the soap and one to wash off the mitt so the soapy water does not collect the dirt. Also get a micro fibre drying towel way better than a chamois.

hey Paul - nice work, love the colour.

re washing I use a Meguair's lambswool mitt that I've had for years, along with their gold shampoo. like Dec540 I use two buckets, also have a microfibre cloth for drying.

enjoy the new wheels

You've had it for years? I must be doing something wrong as i get a new one every few months and use the old one to clean my wheels.

had it for two years now - and still going strong although tufts of wool starting to fall out.

I stick it in the machine wash after I use it, seems to keep it in good nick. also I never use it for the wheels, have one of those wheel brushes to keep them clean.

but I could do with a new one, might be time...

Got word from the dealer that my car should be on Australian Soil by the end of the month. I'm not getting any after market work done on it so assuming that they don't have to do any repairs for transit damage then I should have it in the next 3 weeks..... man the wait hurts!

I'll just dribble on the photos in this thread in the mean time!
